Hey Corage Crew! Happy Women’s History Month! We’re so excited to celebrate this glorious month with all of you. As we pay homage to the heroines of the past, we are also taking the time to champion and empower our future by discussing a topic that is near and dear to our heart, supporting Black girls’ to love and value themselves.
It's no secret that kids are the quintessential play experts. Have you ever paused to watch a child completely lost in their little world? Whether they're building an imaginary battlefield with LEGOS, hosting a tea party for their dolls, or pretending to be a superhero on a mission, there's always something magical about those moments: the joy in their eyes, the giggles, and the pure excitement.
Aside from being a month of love, February is Black History Month. It's a time to celebrate Black people's achievements, contributions and rich culture. But what happens after that? Does BHM end after the 28 days of February? Do we go about our everyday lives waiting for the following February before we celebrate? Truth is, 28 days isn't enough to honor the richness of Black history and keep it alive for our children.

In a world still grappling with systemic racism and social injustice, the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy remains a powerful source of hope and equality. Yet, what’s often overlooked is how his teachings and actions also served as a foundation for championing women’s rights, particularly those of Black women.
Today when social ills and political conflict can feel all encompassing, Corage Dolls aims to be a beacon of hope and inspiration for Black communities, particularly Black girls and women.
The holiday season has a way of bringing out the best in us. For Aaliyah, it's not just about the lights, music, or festive activities. Instead, it's about connection. Growing up in Chicago, IL., she's learned that the most meaningful moments happen when she's surrounded by family, reflecting on her roots, and celebrating the strength and love that make her who she is.
What happens when none of the dolls look like you? While Black dolls have since drastically expanded, there still lies a gap in representation overall, with mainstream dolls failing to reflect the diversity of the real world. This lack continues to reinforce narrow beauty standards, leaving Black girls feeling excluded, sending a subtle yet harmful message about who’s valued and celebrated.
Let’s face it - kids today are true digital nomads. It’s almost as if they were practically born swiping and scrolling. Gen Alpha, the youngest generation of everyone, might be the ultimate masters at navigating tablets and touchscreens, but behind that, they’re just kids who crave to be seen.
Think back to a time when your child heard their favorite song. Did you notice how their face lit up, or their body couldn’t resist moving to the beat?
As the holidays begin to close in, everyone’s looking forward to the excitement that comes with it. We’re looking forward to unwrapping Christmas gifts, going out and feasting. It’s easy to think that if a parent looks like they’ve got everything under control, they must be doing just fine.
