4 Things The 2024 Olympics Taught Me

Hey all!

If you follow (or not do so now) Corage Dolls on Insta or Facebook, you know I’ve been posting all about the Olympics! And Aaliyah has enjoyed it as well. Honestly, those two weeks gave me life in a world that’s been an emotional rollercoaster and seeing Black girls be unstoppable was everything!

From the exuberance of Black Girl Magic and sistership from Biles, Chiles, and Andrade…

Sha’Carri performing as fabulously as her nail designs

To Lauren Scruggs breaking barriers by becoming the first Black American woman to win an individual medal in fencing.

At Corage Dolls, our goal is to encourage girls of color to be unstoppable and the 2024 Olympics taught us just that through the important lessons that can inspire anyone to reach their full potential!

Check it out!

1. Taking a break helps you come back stronger.

Shoutout to Simone Biles for putting her well-being first and then coming back stronger than ever!

2. True winners lift each other up.

This generation of athletes showed true sportsmanship, celebrating each other's success with genuine love, beyond country allegiance.

3. It’s never too early or too late to chase your dreams.

11-year-old Zheng Haohao was the youngest Olympian in skateboarding, while 58-year-old Laura Kaut became the oldest U.S. medalist in 72 years in equestrian!

4. Never underestimate the power of positive words.

From Olympian track runner Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone quoting Bible verses to others manifesting that one day they’ll be an Olympian, positive self-talk builds confidence and removes negative thinking of failure.
